About Cebu Pacific
Founded in 1988, Cebu Pacific is Asia’s oldest low-cost carrier. Based in Manila, the airline flies to over 60 domestic and international locations and operates a fleet of over 50 Airbus A320s, A321s and A330s, and ATR 72-500s. It is the largest carrier in the Philippines by passenger numbers.
Known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Manila is the capital, and the economic and cultural centre of the Philippines. While settled several hundred years earlier, the city was officially founded in 1571 by the Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi as a territory of modern day Mexico. As a result, the city played an important role in the trade between Europe, Africa, Hispanic America and Asia Pacific.
From Spanish colonial buildings to art deco theatres and modern skyscrapers, Manila features a variety of architectural styles. It is extremely popular with tourists and is known as one of the best shopping destinations in Asia. Though Filipino is the most common language, English is widely spoken throughout the city.
Manila is home to a tropical climate and experiences hot, humid weather year-round.
